We have spent over 10 years refining the art of creating industrial British Alpaca yarns that are capable of making high-quality textiles and knitwear. We understand the intricacies involved in creating a highly specialist yarn that is capable of creating high-end garments on industrial machines. Our yarns are now made specifically for our products which we make on our Shima Seiki machine.
WORKING WITH EKOALPAKA YARNS
The secret to making great knitwear is understanding the fibre you have to work with and the yarns.
Yarns from natural fibres are all different to manmade fibres like acrylics and nylons. Alpaca yarn is particularly difficult to work with as it is slippery, soft and often not spun properly for use in industrial machines. It does not perform like merino or wool.
We understand our EKOALPAKA yarns as we know our fibre. When you commission us to make a product you can be assured that we know and understand our source.
